Dr. Prashant Rahate has graduated and post graduated from GMC, Nagpur. He followed this up with an array of courses and accrued unmatched knowledge in his chosen field of medicine. He has a Fellowship of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Dip. Minimally Invasive surgery (Basic & Advance), Cert. Course in Central Venous Line Access & its maintenance, Fellow of Association of Colorectal Surgeons of India, FISCP, FIAGES, Cert. in S.I.L.S. & N.O.T.E.S. from the world renowned IRCAD institute in Strasbourg, France, Cert. in Advance Course on Thoracoscopy to add up academically to his credit. He skillfully commenced Laparoscopic work more than a decade ago and has attended various training workshops and courses at premier institutes around the world.
Apart from being a Consultant Surgeon of various hospitals in Nagpur City, he has been practicing at his own Rahate Surgical Hospital, Nagpur, since 2004. He was Fellow Observer – Strasbourg, France; Visiting Consultant Surgeon – Kansas State Medical University, USA; Fellow Observer – Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore; Fellow Observer – Servence Hospital, Seoul, South Korea. He has also been a Faculty at the workshop conducted by the Philippines Endoscopy Society.
Organised many workshops and conferences – including WORLD CONGRESS OF COLOPROCTOLOGY. Dr. Rahate was the Organising Secretary of the First Conference in India.
- Operated more than 2000 surgeries per year, since 1993. At present tally is more than 200 surgeries per month.
- Performed more than 2000 Upper GI Endoscopies per year since 1995.
- Performed more than 600 colonoscopies per year since 1996.
- Performing Laparoscopic Surgeries since 1999 & advanced laparoscopic surgeries since 2003.
- Doing VATS since 2004, & advanced VATS since 2006.
- Doing N.O.T.E.S. since january 2009. (First to do Transgastric Cholecystectomy in India)
- Doing V.A.A.F.T since Jan 2011. (First surgeon in India to do it)
- Doing Varicose Vein radial radio ablation since 2012
- Performed many basic and advanced laparoscopic surgeries.
- Performed advanced colonic and gastric onco surgeries laparoscopically.
- Performed total oesophegectomy (prone position).
- Performed thoracic duct ligation thoracoscopically (vats).
- Performed axillary dissection in CA breast laparoscopically.
- Performed parathyroid tumor excision laparoscopically
- Performed laparoscopic Adrinocortical tumor excision laparoscopically. (Both right & left adrenal glands)

- Regularly performing retroperitoneoscopies.
